What makes a golf course great?  There’s no simple answer to that question.  If there were, every golf course seeking to grow and expand would apply the same formula to achieve success.  Instead, it’s more likely if you ask your golfing buddies what makes a great golf course, you’ll receive a spectrum of feedback as different as each of your friends.  At the Eagle Point Golf Club, we try to incorporate as many great golf course qualities into our course as possible for a spectacular experience.

Challenge.  The only way to get better at a skill is to have experiences where the playing field is slightly outside your comfort zone.  By stretching your abilities, you gain confidence, and your skills develop.  Each hole should comprise challenging traits that test and push the golfer’s ability.
2. Adaptability.  Unless you’re a professional golfer, you likely play golf with friends with varying abilities.  A course that will push the advanced player yet be designed to accommodate beginner and intermediate players becomes the ultimate destination for many groups of friends.

4. Maintenance.  We shouldn’t even need to note that the condition of the course, including all the amenities, is essential to the golfer’s experience.  The greens, bunkers, and waterways should all be maintained well.  Having a nice restaurant or bar to retreat to is a pleasant way to end the day.
5. Community.  When a golfer steps onto the property, they should feel comfortable, supported, and amongst friends.  From the quality of one-on-one golf lessons and service-minded staff to the abundance of group activities and tournaments, great golf courses are mini-communities that complement all the things golfers love to do.
