Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center
Located on the banks of the Rogue River in Grants Pass, Oregon, Wildlife Images has been helping injured wildlife since it was founded in 1981 by renowned wildlife rehabilitator J. David Siddon. Sick, hurt, and orphaned wildlife are cared for to return to their natural environments when possible. Those that can no longer safely live independently are rehomed to zoos and wildlife educational centers around the country.
Visitors are welcome to participate in self-guided tours of the facility and learn about all the different species of wildlife native to Southern Oregon. Educational signs and on-site docents share interesting facts about the bears, squirrels, owls, badgers, and other animals under treatment at the center. Wildlife Images is open throughout the year and routinely hosts special events.
West Coast Game Park
Visit the Southern Oregon coast and enjoy a visit to the West Coast Game Park near Bandon, Oregon. The entire family will enjoy exploring Oregon’s largest, self-supporting wildlife attraction. The fun begins when you enter the facility as dozens of goats, sheep, and deer who hope you purchased a little cup of wildlife food at the front desk welcome you to their habitat.
West Coast Game Park opened in 1968 as a small roadside attraction featuring a few deer. Within a few years, it expanded to include other animals and continued to grow to the multi-acre facility it is today. Many animals are free roaming in the park, while others can be observed from outside their protected habitats. Educational programs, including opportunities to hold or pet the animals, are offered daily.
Wildlife Safari
Take your family on a complete safari adventure at Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon. The park is divided into two areas. First, stay in your vehicle and drive around the outdoor campus to get close and personal with wild animals from Africa, Asia, and North America. Kids will scream with glee as emus come right to your windows to eat specialty food you can purchase along the way. At the end of the road, enjoy walking through the Village where you’ll see more animals in their natural habitats. Choose to ride a camel or learn more about their veterinary hospital. You can also register in advance to participate in extra opportunities like feeding giraffes in their enclosure.
Wildlife Safari opened in 1972 as the dream of Frank Hart. His goal was to build a facility to help save and rehabilitate endangered species from all over the world. His vision continues to be the foundation of their operations a half-century later. Today, over 200,000 people come to Wildlife Safari to witness the beauty and learn about species of wildlife they’ve only seen on television or in books.
